History and vision

The story of Atelier en Hauteur is first and foremost that of an encounter between two people who, despite their difference in age and distinct backgrounds, quickly developed a deep friendship and mutual trust. José Luis Pereira and Jacob Hassall share a common belief: the greatest achievements are born when you build on each other's strengths.

When José loses a significant part of his vision, he is forced to leave his job and completely rethink his professional future. It is at that moment that he chooses to start a business with Jacob. Together, they founded Atelier en Hauteur, a company that reflects their vision of work: collaboration, trust, and personal growth.

In their daily work, their complementarity is at the heart of their success. José brings his experience, strategic vision, and expertise in business development. Jacob, a rope access expert and site manager, draws on his knowledge of the field and of structures. When the situation requires it, he becomes José's eyes. This gesture, which goes far beyond mutual aid, illustrates the trust that unites them. Each knows the other's strengths and knows he can count on his partner at all times.

This bond naturally spread to the entire team. At Atelier en Hauteur, the corporate culture is built on collaboration, mutual support, and the appreciation of differences. Regardless of age, background, or personal challenges, everyone has a place and can fully contribute to the collective success.

For José and Jacob, this business is also a way to demonstrate that age or visual impairment does not limit ambitions. Together, they hope to inspire young people living with a disability or difference by proving to them that it is possible to build a career, achieve their goals, and succeed when they have a strong support system and believe in their abilities.

Through this commitment, José and Jacob also hope to inspire other entrepreneurs to make a difference in their community. Together, it is possible to build meaningful partnerships and demonstrate that a company's success is also measured by the positive impact it leaves on the lives of others.

It is this same conviction that led them to become active partners of the Association québécoise des parents d’enfants handicapés visuels (AQPEHV). For them, supporting the organization was a given. By encouraging its mission, they wish to make a concrete contribution to offering more opportunities for young people living with a visual impairment to develop their confidence, explore their passions, and believe in their potential.
